The 2025 NFL Draft is less than three weeks away and teams are starting to finalize their plans for the biggest week of the NFL offseason.
Quarterbacks remain a hot commodity in the draft, and one of the biggest questions is where Shedeur Sanders ends up being drafted. And according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Sanders will not be a Top 3 pick come later this month.
During an appearance on ESPN’s ‘Get Up’ on Thursday morning, Schefter believes the Tennessee Titans will stay at No. 1 to take Miami QB Cam Ward. And then, it’s Cleveland and New York (Giants) on the clock.
“Which would then take us to the number two pick and the Cleveland Browns. There, early on, was a lot of conversations, speculation about whether or not they would take Shedeur Sanders. It feels like it’s moving off there,” Schefter said. “It feels like ownership has even spent a lot of time with Abdul Carter. It feels like, more and more, Abdul Carter could be paired opposite Myles Garrett to give the Browns the most feared pass-rushing tandem in the National Football League.”
“If the Browns in fact do go with Abdul Carter, that would leave the Giants sitting there, staring at the same quarterback decision that the Browns had, that they bypassed – to take Shedeur Sanders. And there’s more and more of a feeling like the Giants might not go quarterback. If they don’t go quarterback, that would leave the other star player from this draft, Travis Hunter, to give New York a little star power that it lost when Saquon Barkley signed with the Philadelphia Eagles.”
The general belief is that Sanders is sliding down some draft boards.
“If we’re sitting here three weeks from today, when we’ll be in Green Bay for the draft on ESPN and ABC? It feels more and more like Cam Ward one, Abdul Carter two, maybe Travis Hunter three,” stated Schefter. “But, again, three weeks to go and a lot can change in those weeks.”
The First Round of the 2025 NFL Draft takes place on Thursday, April 24th in Green Bay, Wisconsin, at Lambeau Field.
