West Virginia’s spring showcase was this past weekend and in the aftermath of some roster movement, they’re starting to trim things up a bit.
On Monday, redshirt sophomore pass rusher Oryend Fisher announced that he will be entering the transfer portal to try and make an impact somewhere else in 2025.
“As I reflect on my time at West Virginia, I am forever grateful for the experiences, growth, and relationships I have made. Without that, I would not have developed into the player I am today. With that being said, I have decided to enter the transfer portal.”
Fisher played in one game as a true freshman, seeing action against Duquesne in an early season contest. Unfortunately, he missed the majority of the next season after requiring knee surgery following the regular season.
Fisher will have four years of eligibility remaining wherever he ends up. At 6-foot-6, 225 pounds, he has intriguing upside and will certainly have some interest from other programs.
He originally chose West Virginia over Kentucky, Louisville, Memphis, Vanderbilt, Akron, Central Michigan, and Eastern Kentucky, among others.
