When the Tennessee Titans are officially on the clock in Green Bay this evening, there will be little to no mystery about who they’ll end up taking with the No. 1 overall pick.
For weeks now, reports that Cam Ward is their guy have circulated, and at this point it feels like a foregone conclusion that that’s what will happen.
It’s really not much of a debate that the second player off of the board will be Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter. With the Browns owning the No. 2 pick, it’s safe to assume he’ll end up in Cleveland, right?
Perhaps, but you might think twice before betting on it.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapaport, there’s at least one team actively trying to move up to the No. 2 spot in order to draft the generational talent out of Boulder.
During an appearance on the Rick Eisen Show on Thursday, Rapoport spelled out the latest details on what’s going on behind the scenes.
“I would say that I think, but don’t know, that Travis Hunter is the best guess to go there [at No. 2],” Rapoport said. ‘There’s some interest [in the second pick]. There is some real interest. I talked about the Jaguars preparing a bold move and I wonder, are they a team that tries to come up? It would be a lot. If the Jaguars are going to do something bold… I was told that the Jaguars are not going to do something timid. I think they are at least considering it.”
Then, Rapoport doubled down with this tweet on X.
The Jaguars are certainly in a position to make some bold moves after their 2024 campaign ended with a 4-13 record and a new head coach in Liam Coen.
With their franchise quarterback already established in Trevor Lawrence, could a dynamic wideout and defensive back be their next addition? Only time will tell.
The 2025 NFL Draft is set to begin on Thursday, April 24, with the first round beginning at 8:00 p.m. ET. The second and third rounds will start at 7:00 PM ET on Friday, April 25th, and the final four rounds (4-7) will begin at noon ET on Saturday, April 26th.
