Big 12 baseball is in full swing, as we just wrapped up another great weekend of conference play. Last week, we had a major shakeup in the power rankings, and this week, things were no different! So, without further ado, here are my Big 12 baseball power rankings for the week!

#1 West Virginia (Last Week: 1)

I know we’ve had some shakeups at number one, but kudos to the Mountaineers for staying at the top. West Virginia swept UCF this past weekend in Orlando and continues to be the cream of the crop in the Big 12.

#2 Kansas (Last Week: 3)

Don’t look now, but here come the Kansas Jayhawks, fresh off a big sweep over Utah. I have said multiple times that this team will find its way to the top once again, and with the way they are playing, watch out.

#3 Arizona State (Last Week: 4)

Much like Kansas, which is ranked ahead of them, the Sun Devils also completed a sweep over a Utah team this weekend. But instead of Utah, it was BYU. Still, it was a very impressive weekend for Arizona State.

#4 Arizona (Last Week: 2)

It’s been a while since Arizona has fallen from the top three, but after losing to Texas Tech, I felt like they had to be taken a few spots down. Usually, Lubbock is a place where teams go to score, and the Wildcats’ bats went cold, which I thought was odd considering Tech’s pitching hasn’t been great this season.

#5 TCU (Last Week: 5)

Some may argue that I could bump up TCU a spot this week after beating Baylor, I didn’t feel like they deserved to be ranked inside my top four. Now, if they had swept the Bears, then maybe I could have been talked into doing it.

#6 Kansas State (Last Week: 10)

The Wildcats are back in my good graces this week after a nice series win against Houston this past weekend. I’m still not sure what to make of this team, but a win’s a win.

#7 Texas Tech (Last Week: 11)

Hey, look who is back inside the top ten! Texas Tech has been one of the craziest teams in the Big 12 this yea,r but beating Arizona this past weekend caught my attention. But I’m curious to see how they follow up next weekend.

#8 Oklahoma State: (Last Week: 6)

I have been waiting for this team to wake up for months, and I felt like it still hasn’t happened yet. Well, it’s about to be May, and if this team doesn’t start winning, they can kiss the postseason goodbye.

#9 Baylor (Last Week: 7)

Baylor was a team that was climbing in my weekly power rankings, but after dropping their series against TCU, where they had to win on Sunday to avoid getting swept, didn’t help their case this week.

#10 Cincinnati (Last Week: 12)

The Bearcats have been down a lot this season, and that continued to be the case against Oklahoma State this past weekend. After taking the opening game, Cincinnati dropped the final two games of the series against the Cowboys.

#11 Houston (Last Week: 9)

I thought this team was getting on the right track, and they simply couldn’t find a way to take the series against Kansas State. Fortunately for them, they won on Sunday or else they would have been swept like some of the teams below.

#12 UCF (Last Week: 8)

Just when I praise this team, they let me down. After putting them inside the top eight last week, the Knights were swept by West Virginia at home this past weekend. I guess it’s time to sell my UCF stock now.

#13 Utah (Last Week: 13)

Not much will change for the Utes after getting swept by Kansas over the weekend. This team continues to struggle in Big 12 play, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

#14 BYU (Last Week: 14)

I don’t need to say much because BYU’s record speaks for itself, and after getting swept this past weekend against Arizona State, they deserve to be in the basement for the power rankings.
