While just about everyone in the world of sports was shocked by the massive fall of Shedeur Sanders in the 2025 NFL Draft, one Colorado fan appeared to suffer the worst of it.

Due to the “emotional distress” caused by Sanders falling to the fifth round, the anonymous fan elected to sue the NFL in search of $100 million in relief efforts.

“A retraction of the slanderous statements made about Shedeur Sanders, along with an apology for any harm caused to his reputation,” the anonymous John Doe demanded. “Implementation of fairer practices in the drafting process to ensure that talented players are recognized and given opportunities based on merit.”

By far, the largest demand made came down to a dollar amount, with the fan asking for “Punitive damages in the amount of $100,000,000.00 for the harm caused to the Plaintiff and the impact of the NFL’s actions on his emotional well-being.”

In conclusion, “Plaintiff requests that the Court consider this complaint and take appropriate action to address the intentional emotional distress and trauma suffered as a result of the NFL’s collusive practices and the harmful statements made regarding Shedeur Sanders.”

As nice as pocketing $100 million may sound to the anonymous fan, there is just simply no way this gets off the ground. While Sanders’ reputation and legacy may have taken a bit of a hit with the pitfall, the likelihood of the NFL sending someone a large sum of money to compensate for something 31 out of 32 teams agreed on is ludicrous at best.

Regardless, this likely won’t be the last time college football fans have to deal with the fallouts connected to Shedeur Sanders and his NFL Draft stock.
