While Shedeur Sanders‘ fall on draft night has come and gone, experts are still discussing it and likely will be for a while.

Recently, one NFL executive explained why Sanders fell and highlighted Shedeur’s father, Deion, as the main culprit.

“I think his dad’s involvement hurt him,” the anonymous source said. “Some of the things his dad said, I think, weighed on people’s minds. It’s not about being a brand. It’s about being a teammate and earning a job.”

While multiple organizations labelled Sanders arrogant and immature, he spoke candidly and honestly about the Browns after being selected.

“I think what happened was I had a great interview and a great process with the Browns, and that’s why they were able to pick me,” Sanders said. “Anything outside the organization is really a non-factor to me now. This is my focus.”

Sanders now looks to establish himself as a prominent member in a crowded quarterback room. Sanders is joined by Deshaun Watson, Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel in Cleveland and should have a shot at some serious reps in the preseason.

What comes next for Sanders will surely be discussed, but until fans see the former Buffalo in action, all talk remains on his improbable fall on draft night.
