While it’s no secret that Kansas State commit Linkon Cure has shown some incredible ability on the gridiron throughout his career at Goodland High School, he continues to dominate on the track.
On Saturday, Cure competed in the Kansas State 3A Track Championship and posted a meet record in the 110-meter hurdles.
Cure recorded a time of 14.36 and defended his title in the event.
Coming out of Goodland High School in the Class of 2025, Cure was listed as a five-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 30th-ranked player. He checked in as the top-ranked player at his position and the second-ranked player in the state of Kansas.
“Catch-first tight end with all the puzzle pieces to easily picture what he can be in the coming years,” 247Sports’ Andrew Ivins said on Cure. “Owns one of the more promising profiles when it comes to the 2025 crop of tight ends with his multi-sport accomplishments and extensive two-way snaps. Dominated rural Sunflower State competition as a junior and senior, totaling almost 2,000 receiving yards while averaging just over 20 yards per reception. Picks up the pace as routes unfold and can shake coverage with dynamic twists and turns.”
“Hoops background frequently shows up at the catch point as he high-points the football and outmuscles defenders,” Ivins continued. “Animated with the ball in his hands, he will go through or around would-be tacklers to move the chains. Should be viewed as a modern tight end with alignment flexibility that can be the focal point of a passing attack with his soft hands and rare athleticism. In-person evaluation at the Navy All-American Bowl suggests that there’s plenty of room to add more mass and that major technical advancements could be right around the corner. Sunday upside.”
Cure’s first taste of college football will be incredibly unique as the Kansas native joins the Wildcats in Dublin, Ireland, to kick off the 2025 season vs. Iowa State.
