While Big 12 football fans are more than aware of just how energetic and charismatic Arizona State’s Kenny Dillingham is, the rest of the world appears to finally be catching up.
On Tuesday, Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon hosted Dillingham and some of his staff during OTAs, which allowed the two to connect and talk ball.
“He’s got major juice,” Gannon said. “He’s very smart. He thinks about the game in a really unique way. He’s on it. I would say he’s a guy that’s on it.”
While not all professional franchises lean into supporting the local colleges, Gannon’s decision to host Dillingham for practice is a pretty cool thing to see. The Arizona Cardinals are entering the third year of the Gannon era, hoping to flip the script and earn a positive record in 2025.
Gannon’s first year in Phoenix started off a little rocky with the team finishing 4-13 overall. In Year Two, the group improved to 8-9, but still missed out on the playoffs. Heading into the fall, Gannon’s group looks to make the leap toward playoff eligibility, and what better way to do that than talking to someone with recent playoff experience, even if it is at the collegiate level.
Dillingham and the Sun Devils are set to kick off the 2025 season on Saturday, August 30th, against Northern Arizona at 9:00 p.m. central.
