The Jayhawks continue building out their versatile secondary with the commitment of three-star safety Robert Reddick from Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis.
At 6‑foot‑1 and around 175 pounds, Reddick holds offers from Illinois, Purdue, Northern Illinois, and Toledo, and recently wrapped up an official visit to Lawrence that sealed the deal.
Reddick becomes the 18th commit in Kansas’s 2026 class and fills a key role as the third defensive back, joining safety JJ Dunnigan Jr. and corner Lennie Brown.
Known for a sub‑4.3‑second 40‑yard dash and a 4.28 time posted on his X account, Reddick’s speed popped for KU defensive backs coach Brandon Shelby and the strength staff, who showcased their individualized player development approach during the official visit.
Reddick emphasized the effort Kansas put into selling his mother on the program during a pool party-style visit hosted by Coach Leipold, where he committed in front of the staff and fellow recruits.
Despite losing a high-profile D‑end earlier this week, Reddick’s commitment offers a momentum boost, especially with his athletic upside and strong fit in defensive coordinator D.K. McDonald’s scheme.
Coach Leipold called Reddick “a modern secondary player” whose work ethic and personality “fit our locker room” after an enthusiastic weekend that included a campus tour, meetings with trainers, and even some poolside conversation at the Leipold household.
