The 2025 Men’s College World Series championship is down to two: perennial power LSU and red-hot Coastal Carolina. Oddsmakers have set LSU as a big favorite entering the best-of-three finals, but Coastal’s historic win streak and explosive offense make this matchup far from predictable.
LSU Favored in Title Series
After sweeping through its side of the bracket, LSU opened as a -190 favorite to win the national title, implying about a 65.5% chance of taking home the trophy. Coastal Carolina sits at +155, giving them a roughly 39.2% implied probability. The Tigers are also favored in Game 1 on Saturday, with moneyline odds ranging from -166 to -180 depending on the sportsbook.
LSU entered Omaha at +330 to win the title and has seen its odds shift dramatically with dominant performances on the mound and timely hitting. On the other side, Coastal Carolina has rocketed into the finals on the back of a 26-game win streak, and their championship odds have improved from +215 before the finals to +155 entering the title round.
Baseball Histories: Power vs. Cinderella
LSU’s baseball pedigree is among the most storied in college baseball history. The Tigers have captured seven national championships, tied for the second-most all-time, with their most recent title coming in 2023. Legendary coach Skip Bertman built the foundation of success in the 1990s, and LSU has continued to thrive under Jay Johnson’s leadership.
Coastal Carolina, on the other hand, became a household name in 2016 when it won its first national championship in a dramatic underdog run. That victory remains one of the most improbable the history of the College World Series.
