Shedeur Sanders is commanding attention at Cleveland Browns training camp.
According to stats shared by ESPN Cleveland, Sanders has been the most efficient quarterback on the roster through nine practices. He has completed 49 of 70 passes with six touchdowns and zero interceptions, leading all Browns quarterbacks in accuracy and scoring.
For comparison, Dillon Gabriel has gone 62 of 113 with four touchdowns and two interceptions. Joe Flacco has completed 54 of 92 attempts with three touchdowns and no picks. Kenny Pickett is 23 of 34 with three touchdowns and one interception.
Among the group, Sanders is the only quarterback with a completion rate above 70 percent while also maintaining a perfect interception line. He has continued to stack quality days, including a clean outing on Day Eight with multiple red zone completions and tight-window throws.
Despite the performance, Sanders has not yet received first-team reps. Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski has rotated the veteran quarterbacks consistently, with Flacco holding a majority of the starting work and Pickett remaining in the mix despite managing a hamstring issue. That injury has allowed more practice snaps for both Sanders and Gabriel, giving the rookie a platform to showcase his command.
Sanders was a fifth-round selection out of Colorado, where he set school passing records under Deion Sanders. Though he entered the NFL without first-round expectations, his early efficiency is drawing praise from coaches and media alike. His ability to protect the football, stay within structure, and generate touchdowns has made him the most productive quarterback in Browns camp so far.
With preseason approaching, Sanders is positioning himself as a serious contender for the backup role, even in a crowded room of veterans and recent draft picks.
