Cincinnati Makes Splash With International Talent Jordi Rodriguez

NCAA Basketball: American Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinals - Cincinnati vs Houston

The University of Cincinnati men’s basketball team rounded out its roster ahead of the 2025-26 season with the commitment from Spanish wing Jordi Rodriguez, per Joe Tipton.

Rodriguez, a Barcelona, Spain native, showcased his talents overseas, averaging 13.6 points and shooting 40% from three with Team Spain in the 2023 FIBA U19 Cup.

The 6-foot-6 wing has an all-around game, as he tallied 2.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists per outing in the tournament.

He already has ties to the program, playing alongside current forward Baba Miller with Team Spain. Rodriguez brings a strong international resume, having recently played for Grupo Ureta Tizona Burgos and Joventut Badalona in Spain. There, he recorded 8.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, and shot an efficient 41.5% from three-point range.

Rodriguez joins a team that struggled from three last season, ranking 14th in the Big 12 Conference at 32.4%.

“He brings versatility, playmaking ability, elite outside shooting, and high-level international experience,” Head Coach Wes Miller said in a press release. “He has competed on some of the world’s biggest stages, and we believe he will make an immediate impact on our program.”

The Bearcats are entering their third season competing in the Big 12 and finished 19-16 in 2024-25. Miller has led the program to a winning record in each of his first four seasons, but has not yet reached the NCAA Tournament.
