The Oklahoma Sooners secured their first commitment from the Class of 2027 with offensive tackle Luke Wilson, per Parker Thune.
Before choosing to sign with the Sooners, Wilson fielded offers from Arizona State, Florida State, TCU, and Wake Forest, while he is currently unranked.
Even though Wilson did not receive a ranking, his early interest from Power Five programs shows he has high ceiling potential. As OU looks to compete in the SEC following a disappointing 2024 campaign, securing a talent like Wilson is a promising first step for the future.
Wilson, entering his junior season at Southlake Carroll High School in Texas, is listed at 6-foot-6 and committed to the program roughly just two months after receiving his offer.
Oklahoma left the Big 12 Conference in 2023 for the SEC and finished 6-7 in the team’s inaugural season competing in the league.
Head Coach Brent Vanables is entering his third season at the helm and has gone 16-10 in his first two campaigns since replacing Lincoln Riley.
OU will start its season at home against Illinois State on Aug. 30 before a matchup with the Michigan Wolverines. The team has a difficult conference schedule, taking on Texas, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Alabama, and LSU.
