The 2025 college football campaign is just a few weeks away, as PFF College released its top 10 list of true freshmen to know this season.

Coming in at No. 10 was Colorado quarterback Julian Lewis, a former five-star recruit who originally committed to USC before flipping to Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes. Lewis reclassified from the 2026 class and enters Boulder as one of the most decorated quarterbacks in the country.

Ranked as one of the top players in the 2025 class, Lewis became Coach Prime’s third commitment, ranked in the Top 25 nationally.

He was named Georgia’s Gatorade Player of the Year twice and starred throughout his high school career, becoming the seventh all-time passing yards leader in Georgia.

With Shedeur Sanders off to the NFL, Lewis will battle Liberty transfer Kaidon Salter for the starting job. Salter, who threw for over 1,886 yards and 15 touchdowns last season, comes in with experience as he set the Liberty passing record for touchdowns thrown in a single season in 2023.

Colorado is entering its second season back in the Big 12 and is coming off a 9-4 campaign that included marquee wins over Kansas State and Utah.

The Buffaloes are expected to compete for the conference title and are looking to win at least 10 games for the first time since 2016.

Sanders and company will begin the 2025 season at home against Georgia Tech on Aug. 29 at 8 p.m.
