BetOnline Sportsbook has released its preseason win total odds for each power conference, and the Big 12’s numbers suggest a tightly packed race with no clear runaway favorite.
Kansas State and Arizona State lead the conference with an over-under of six wins, setting the early benchmark for the league.
Just behind the top pair are Baylor, Texas Tech, and Utah, each opening at 5.5 wins. That group includes two programs with recent success in the conference race and a new-ishcomer in Utah that enters its second season as a Big 12 member.
BYU, Iowa State, Kansas, and TCU each carry an over-under of 4.5 wins, putting them in position to push for bowl eligibility if they can outperform expectations. All four have rosters capable of climbing higher, but the lines reflect the depth of competition within the league.
Cincinnati, Colorado, Houston, and Oklahoma State are all projected at 3.5 wins. For Oklahoma State, the number is a stark change from recent seasons under Mike Gundy and reflects questions about the program’s ability to rebound. Colorado’s total mirrors the uncertainty surrounding Deion Sanders’ second year in the Big 12, while Houston and Cincinnati continue to work through early growing pains in the league.
At the bottom of the projections are Arizona, UCF, and West Virginia, each with an over-under of three wins. While low expectations may offer motivation, those numbers highlight just how competitive the middle of the conference could be if underdogs manage a few key upsets.
With no team projected above six wins, BetOnline’s numbers suggest a Big 12 race defined by parity. In a league where margins are thin and upsets are common, the final standings could look very different from these early projections by the time December arrives.
