The Booth Is Back — And It Tastes Better Than Ever

Booth Stadium Renderings

The Kansas Jayhawks are set to make their home debut in less than two weeks as the football season gets ready to kick off with a Week 0 matchup against Fresno State. While football is on the mind for many, food options inside David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium have been on the minds of others.

The renovations and upgrades at The Booth have invigorated the Jayhawk fan base, and now that excitement includes a variety of food and beverage options that were recently revealed by KU Athletics.

Let’s get this thing started with my personal favorite addition at The Booth: Johnny’s Tavern.

The original Johnny’s, which is located in North Lawrence and has been in business since 1953, is the perfect partner for KU. Head coaches Lance Leipold and Bill Self both do their coaches’ shows throughout their seasons live from Johnny’s in West Lawrence, and this makes for such a natural fit inside the stadium.

You can find Johnny’s locations inside the stadium throughout the main concourse, as well as the Patio Premium Seating area. Johnny’s famous Wilson’s Sauce will be located throughout the stadium as well. There are 13 Johnny’s Tavern locations between Lawrence and the KC Metro area.

Tiki Taco is another new option inside The Booth. This Kansas City Metro-branded taco restaurant has locations in KC, Overland Park, and Olathe, with a new location coming to Shawnee soon. Each location features tacos, burritos, nachos, and more. Tiki Taco is known for its strong connection to the local community and its generosity in giving back to those in need.

Biggs BBQ is a staple in Lawrence and is back inside The Booth for the 2025 season! Voted “Best BBQ in Lawrence” for nine consecutive years, Biggs offers ribs, pork, chicken, sausage, ham, brisket, and more. Biggs will continue to be a solid choice throughout the season for Jayhawk fans.

Chick-fil-A continues to be a force on KU’s campus. They have been featured at Allen Fieldhouse and will be featured at The Booth as well. Chick-fil-A is one of the most well-known chicken sandwich chains in America and will certainly be a popular choice for fans of all ages.

When you’re finished having that main course and are looking for some dessert, you’ve got a few options to choose from. Early in the season, when the weather is warm, Serendipity Ice Cream may be your preferred choice. They offer a variety of flavors and will be a tasty option for anyone with a sweet tooth. Princeton Popcorn, a local popcorn company out of Princeton, Kansas, will be available throughout the stadium as well.

The food options inside The Booth will be mouth-watering, so how about those beverage options? There are some classics that will be back as well as some new varieties to choose from this season.

Pepsi products will be the soft drink of choice again for the Jayhawks faithful. A longtime partner with KU Athletics, Pepsi will be available throughout the entire stadium for the 2025 season.

Anheuser-Busch, another strong partner with KU Athletics, will return for another season. One of America’s most popular breweries and beers, Anheuser-Busch has been in existence for 165 years and will continue to be a staple during football season.

My favorite move by the Jayhawks in the beverage department, Boulevard Brewing Company, is coming to The Booth! Founded in 1989 by KU alum John McDonald, Boulevard continues to grow and is now a worldwide brand, featured in 47 states and 11 countries. Boulevard also recently revealed they will have Jayhawk-themed cans released this fall to coincide with football season.

There are a couple of other new partners as well. Modello, the most popular Mexican beer on the market, will be a new addition to The Booth this season. Surfside canned cocktails are a new partner of Kansas Athletics. Their most popular flavors include Iced Tea and Vodka, Lemonade and Vodka, and Green Tea and Vodka.

One more exciting addition to The Booth, local brand Uplift Coffee, will be available throughout the stadium. The North Lawrence location on 2nd street is Uplift Coffee’s flagship store, and they have another location in Lawrence as well as one location in Baldwin City, just a short drive south of Lawrence. Another local brand inside The Booth makes for a great addition and will give fans the option to get caffeinated before or throughout the game.

The Jayhawks kick off their season on Saturday, August 23rd at 5:30 pm, hosting the Fresno State Bulldogs. The game will air on FOX.
