Big 12 football is here, and we absolutely can’t wait! In Week Four, the Baylor Bears host the Arizona State Sun Devils at McLane Stadium in a matchup between Big 12 heavyweights. Both teams enter the matchup sitting at 2-1, with Baylor fresh off a dominant 42-7 win over Samford and Arizona State moving on from a 34-15 victory over Texas State.
The game kicks off at 6:30 p.m. CT on Saturday from Waco, Texas. Baylor is favored by 2.5, and the over/under is set at 59.5 points. Here are two key players to watch in this game, followed by the top storylines for each team, and a prediction from Heartland College Sports.
Two Key Players to Watch
Bryson Washington, Baylor Running Back
Without question, Baylor has one of the best running backs in the Big 12, lining up in the backfield in Bryson Washington. In his first two outings, Washington posted 100+ yards rushing in each game; however, against Auburn, he struggled. How he responds to another elite defense will be something to watch.
Jordyn Tyson, Arizona State Wide Receiver
If he’s not the most draftable option of any player in the Big 12 Conference, Arizona State’s Jordyn Tyson is top three, and a bona fide first-round NFL Draft pick. In 2025, he’s posted elite numbers yet again and looks to continue his tear into a conference foe.

Heisman Heat to Continue?
Sawyer Robertson is in the midst of an incredible season. He’s one of three passers in the country to eclipse the 1,000-yard mark, and has done so with a touchdown-to-interception ratio of 10-2. He’ll clash with another elite Big 12 quarterback, Sam Leavitt, in a game that many NFL scouts should be tuned into.
Got It Out the Mud
Speaking of Sam Leavitt, he made headlines this week for discussing his team’s fall out of the AP Top 25. Leavitt mentioned that he feels like the team is better when there aren’t any expectations, and he feels a personal chip on his shoulder when the cards are dealt. He’ll need to get it out of the mud if his team is to take down Baylor on the road.
Prediction: Arizona State 34, Baylor 28
It’s to roll with Arizona State here when Baylor has looked much better than the Sun Devils in 2025. Still, something about this game is calling out in favor of the Sun Devils. Look for Kenny Dillingham’s squad to put on a show against one of the Big 12’s better units.
