Week 6 of the 2025 Big 12 football season brought plenty of drama and statement wins across the conference. BYU kicked things off Friday night by staying unbeaten with a 38-24 victory over West Virginia in Provo. On Saturday, Baylor stunned Kansas State 35-34 thanks to a clutch 53-yard field goal and a blocked kick in the closing moments. Cincinnati made waves by taking down Iowa State 38-30, cementing its place among the league’s top contenders, while Arizona dominated Oklahoma State 41-13 in Tucson. Texas Tech continued to roll with a 35-11 win over Houston, proving its balance on both sides of the ball. TCU got back on track with a 35-21 win over Colorado, and Kansas edged UCF 27-20 in a hard-fought road battle. The results further tightened the Big 12 race, with several teams now emerging as legitimate title threats entering the midseason stretch.
Speaking of attendance, Houston’s attendance figure of 42,806 trails only two games in the stadium’s history: Houston’s 2016 showdown with Louisville, which featured a top-10 matchup and national spotlight, and the 2014 opener against Temple, which was the inaugural game at the new facility. For a regular-season Big 12 game against a familiar Texas opponent, the turnout speaks volumes about the direction of the fan base.
With strong showings in the stands and a slate of competitive games, the Big 12 continues to prove it’s one of the most compelling conferences in college football heading into October.
