The Oklahoma Sooners made a splash, landing the commitment from Class of 2026 four-star linebacker Jacob Curry, per Hayes Fawcett.
Curry, the 21st prospect to commit to Oklahoma’s 2026 class, is ranked as the nation’s 36th‑overall linebacker, bringing notable upward momentum to the Sooners’ recruiting haul.
A native of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, Curry is also ranked as the 57th-best player in the state for the 2026 cycle.
He chose the Sooners over several powerhouse programs, including Ohio State, Baylor, Auburn, and Florida State.
Curry’s commitment gives Oklahoma another versatile, high-upside defender with the range and physicality Venables covets at linebacker. With Curry on board for the future, the Sooners continue to build a defensive core that can compete in the SEC.
This season, Oklahoma is ranked No. 6 in the nation and sits at 5-0, highlighted by impressive wins over Michigan and Auburn. Head coach Brent Venables will look to keep the momentum rolling on Saturday as the Sooners host rival Texas in a marquee matchup at 3:30 p.m. ET.
A win over the Longhorns would not only strengthen Oklahoma’s College Football Playoff hopes but also reinforce its standing as a legitimate SEC contender in 2025. With momentum on their side, the Sooners have another opportunity to make a national statement.
