Colorado’s prized offensive lineman Jordan Seaton was seen wearing a walking boot on the sidelines during Saturday’s game against West Virginia, immediately sparking concern about the health of one of the Buffaloes’ most important players. The video, shared by DNVR Buffs, shows Seaton in street clothes with a boot on his left foot, standing alongside teammates during warmups.

Seaton is a foundational piece for Colorado’s rebuild under Deion Sanders. As a former five-star recruit and the No. 1 offensive tackle in the 2024 class, his arrival in Boulder marked a significant recruiting win for a staff trying to prove it can compete in the trenches. Any potential setback to Seaton’s health threatens to unravel a position group that still lacks proven depth.

The Buffaloes allowed 56 sacks last season, the most in the FBS. Fixing that was priority one for this staff, and Seaton was supposed to be the first solution. If he’s unavailable to continue playing, it’s hard to see Colorado’s offense finding much consistency this year. While the program hasn’t released an official update on Seaton’s status, a walking boot in early November is rarely nothing.

This is especially notable given the broader context of Colorado’s transition into a deeper, more physical Big 12. The Buffs can’t afford to lose star power up front, not with quarterbacks who already take too many hits and a rushing attack that averaged just 68.9 yards per game last year. Seaton is more than just a top recruit. He’s the kind of player who could eventually hear his name called on day one of the NFL Draft, and his development is crucial not just for Colorado’s short-term hopes, but for long-term credibility in the trenches.

Until there’s official word from Coach Prime or the training staff, the speculation will continue. But seeing Jordan Seaton off the field in a boot isn’t just a photo op. It’s a flashing red light for a Colorado team that already walks a thin line between improvement and implosion.
