Four-star Class of 2026 tight end Luke Brewer has committed to the Iowa Hawkeyes over in-state rival Iowa State, per Hayes Fawcett.
The 6-foot-5 Norwalk, Iowa native also considered Miami and Tennessee before opting to stay home and join the Hawkeyes.
According to On3, Brewer ranks as the No. 5 player in Iowa and the No. 25 tight end nationally in the Class of 2026.
The newest Hawkeye originally belonged to the 2027 class before reclassifying to 2026. Iowa has a strong track record of developing NFL-caliber tight ends in recent years, including Noah Fant and George Kittle.
Brewer recorded 532 receiving yards and six touchdowns this season for Norwalk High School, per 247Sports. He also showcased his versatility on defense, leading the team with 63.5 tackles.
Brewer is the latest addition to Iowa’s 2026 recruiting class and brings proven production on both sides of the ball. His commitment gives the Hawkeyes another in-state prospect as they continue building out their future roster.
Meanwhile, Iowa State has fallen short of expectations this season following last year’s success, entering the final stretch of the regular season at 6–4. The Cyclones will close out Big 12 play with matchups against Kansas and Oklahoma State.
