With a 41-17 win over Baylor on Saturday, the Arizona Wildcats have officially doubled their win total of four from the previous year. Despite sitting at 8-3 overall, the job Brent Brennan has done still feels like one of the quieter developments in the Big 12 this fall, and that’s ridiculous, to say the least.
Though the box score reads as an incredibly lopsided outing, Baylor took command of the contest early, finding the end zone twice in the first quarter. The first score came on a nine-yard catch by star wideout Josh Cameron, and the second, a two-yard rush by Sawyer Robertson. In between Baylor’s pair of touchdowns came one from the Wildcats, a two-yard rush by Kendrick Reescano. Reescano was a major contributor throughout the contest as he found the end zone three times and accounted for 46 yards of total offense.
When the first half clock ran out, the score remained in favor of Baylor, though the Wildcats cut into the lead 17-14. Unfortunately for the Bears, they would not score the entire second half as Brent Brennan’s group put the hammer down. The Wildcats scored 28 unanswered points to cruise to their fourth-straight win, and eighth overall.
While games can be decided by a number of things, in the end, it came down to turnovers. Total yards, rushing yards, passing yards, and yards per play were all fairly comparable, but turnovers worked in favor of the Wildcats, with a three-to-one turnover rate.
Unfortunately for Baylor, this feels all too similar. The Bears have been incredibly inconsistent this fall, and the 2025 season will go down as one to forget.
With the win, Arizona improved to 8-3 on the season and 5-3 in Big 12 play, while Baylor fell to 5-6 overall and 3-5 in league play. Arizona ends the 2025 regular season next week at No. 25 Arizona State, while Baylor needs to beat No. 23 Houston at home to become bowl eligible.
