The 2025 college football season entered the final two weeks of the regular season with Week 13, and in the Big 12 there were seven games on the schedule this week. Reviewing a fan base’s attendance also gives us a chance to see which teams are the most passionate about their teams, and which fan bases have checked out and are already looking forward to basketball season. Some teams are surprising, some are disappointing, but who is showing up? With Week 13 of the season in the rearview mirror, here’s a look at the attendance numbers in the conference.
Big 12 Football Week 13 Attendance (Percentage capacity in parenthesis)
- Utah vs. K-State: 51,444 (100.00%)
- Cincinnati vs BYU: 38,034 (99.85%)
- Iowa State vs. Kansas: 58,275 (94.75%)
- UCF vs. Oklahoma State: 41,723 (92.0%)
- Colorado vs. Arizona State: 43,348 (81.78%)
- Arizona vs. Baylor: 40,199 (79.15%)
- Houston vs. TCU: 30,852 (77.13%)
Utah and Cincinnati fans leading the way was to be expected, given what was on the line in each of these games on Saturday. Both had major Big 12 and College Football Playoff implications. And Iowa State fans, on Senior Day, was never going to disappoint. UCF fans showing out for their final home game of the season was impressive to see as well, especially given how the season has gone.
Meantime, Arizona fans should be doing a better job on behalf of this team that is now 8-3 and having one of the best 2024 to 2025 turnarounds in all of college football. There’s no excuse to not be supporting these guys this season. I was disappointed to see that number come in under 80%, and based on some of the pictures I saw on social media, that might even be generous. And then, there’s Houston. The administration needs to fix this conundrum if they’re serious about becoming not just a basketball school, but also a football school. For a Top 25 team to get this level, or lack thereof, of fan support, is unacceptable in this conference.
