Class of 2027 three-star defensive lineman Myels Smith has released his top six schools, with Arizona State making the cut, per Hayes Fawcett.
The other five programs in the mix for Smith are the Washington Huskies, Texas A&M Aggies, Nebraska Cornhuskers, California Golden Bears, and USC Trojans.
“The 6’3 285 DL from Los Angeles, CA is ranked as the No. 2 DL in the 2027 Rivals300,” Fawcett wrote via X.
Arizona State is coming off a solid 2025 season, finishing 8‑4 overall and 6‑3 in Big 12 play, remaining competitive in the league and earning its second-straight bowl game berth under head coach Kenny Dillingham.
Meanwhile, all five of the other programs Smith is considering also finished with winning records in the 2025 season, signaling strong momentum across his finalists.
The Sun Devils have thrived in their first two seasons as members of the Big 12 Conference, highlighted by a College Football Playoff appearance in 2024. Under Dillingham, Arizona State has quickly emerged as a legitimate contender in the new-look league.
As they continue to build on that foundation, landing a high-upside defensive lineman like Smith would only reinforce the Sun Devils’ upward trajectory.
