West Virginia quarterback Khalil Wilkins has announced his decision to enter the NCAA transfer portal, he revealed via X.
Following the 2025 season, Wilkins will enter the portal with three years of eligibility remaining, giving him time to contribute at his next stop.
Wilkins appeared in six games during the 2025 season, finishing with 185 passing yards and one touchdown through the air.
However, it was his impact on the ground that stood out, as he added 243 rushing yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his dual-threat ability and playmaking potential outside the pocket.
While his opportunities were limited in a crowded quarterback room alongside Scotty Fox Jr., Nicco Marchiol, and Jaylen Henderson, Wilkins still managed to showcase his versatility.
The Mountaineers endured a tough campaign in Rich Rodriguez’s first season back on the sidelines in Morgantown, finishing 4-8 overall and 13th in the Big 12 standings.
Now, Wilkins becomes an intriguing option in the transfer portal. With proven mobility, game reps in a Power Five setting, and three years of eligibility left, he’s a name to watch for programs looking to add a dynamic and developmental quarterback talent.
WVU finished with its lowest win total since 2013 and missed a bowl game for the first time since 2022.
