Colorado Lands 3-Star DL Joseph Peko

The Colorado Buffaloes continue to bolster their roster, landing a commitment from Class of 2026 three-star defensive lineman Joseph Peko, he announced via X.

Listed at 6-foot-3, Peko adds size and depth to Colorado’s defensive front as the program looks to build momentum in the 2026 recruiting cycle. His commitment is another step in Coach Prime’s development of long-term defensive pieces.

He held offers from North Carolina, Arkansas, Arizona, and BYU, via 247Sports. Peko is ranked as the No. 103 defensive lineman nationally and the No. 75 overall prospect in the state of California.

Peko already has strong ties to Boulder, as his brother Domata Peko Jr. is also committed to the program, and their father, Domata Peko, serves as Colorado’s defensive line coach.

Domata Peko brought NFL experience to the staff, having spent 15 seasons in the league.

Colorado endured a difficult season on the field, struggling to find consistency and momentum throughout the year.

The Buffaloes finished near the bottom of the conference standings, as struggles on both sides of the ball led to a disappointing 3–9 campaign. After managing just one Big 12 victory, the program recorded its third losing season in the past four years, with hopes of turning things around in 2026.
