Raleek Brown, Arizona State‘s leading rusher from 2025, is keeping the door open on his one remaining year of eligibility. Brown, who previously declared for the 2026 NFL Draft, entered the transfer portal on Friday, according to a report by Chris Hummer of 247 Sports.
Brown just wrapped his second season in Tempe since transferring in from USC as a redshirt sophomore in 2024. A First Team All-Big 12 back, Brown led the Sun Devils with 186 carries, 1,141 yards, and four touchdowns on the ground this season.
The transfer portal officially opened for business on Friday and will remain open until Jan. 16, with no spring window available starting this year. Brown is hardly the first high-profile ASU star to consider the portal, and he’s justifiably weighing his options as a likely late-round pick in the draft.
Star quarterback Sam Leavitt officially entered the portal Friday with two years of eligibility remaining. Brown and Leavitt helped take the Sun Devils to a Big 12 Championship and the College Football Playoff quarterfinals vs. Texas in 2024.
Raleek Brown replaced Kyson Brown as ASU’s go-to rusher early into the 2025 season, and the Sun Devils ultimately finished 8-5 and fourth in the Big 12. The Sun Devils finished the season with a disappointing 42-39 loss to Duke in the Sun Bowl.
At running back, ASU has room to breathe with Kyson Brown (563 career yards) back for his senior season and redshirt freshman Jason Brown Jr., taking 12 touches for 120 yards in a the Sun Bowl loss.
