While former TCU quarterback Josh Hoover is out the door and into the transfer portal, Sonny Dykes isn’t sitting on his hands waiting for a quarterback to fall into his lap.
According to a report from ESPN’s Max Olson, the Horned Frogs have earned a visit from Harvard’s all-time leading passer, Jaden Craig.
During his blank year career with Harvard, he’s recorded 6,074 passing yards and 52 touchdown passes, both of which are program records. He’ll have one year remaining and will enroll at a new school in January. 247Sports has Craig listed as the 132nd-ranked player in the portal and the 19th-ranked quarterback in the country.
Hoover’s departure from TCU was one of the most notable moves at the quarterback position so far this offseason, and he won’t be an easy one to replace. The Big 12 has already seen multiple notable signal-callers walk through the exit door, including Sam Leavitt, Brendan Sorsby, and more. Still, veteran leadership is key in the Big 12, and anytime you can add a player with more than 6,000 passing yards and 23 wins under his belt, you go all out for it.
Craig’s visit to Ft Worth kicks off today, and all eyes will be on the star quarterback. Should he commit to TCU, the Horned Frogs will have solved one of the offseason’s most significant needs on the second day that the transfer portal is open.
