Despite coming off a disappointing 3-9 fall, Deion Sanders isn’t taking it easy when it comes to the transfer portal. On Sunday morning, Colorado secured a commitment from the nation’s receiving yards leader in 2025, San Jose State’s Danny Scudero.
Scudero, a 5-foot-9 sophomore from San Jose, California, posted 88 grabs for 1,291 yards in 2025, alongside 10 touchdowns. He averaged 14.7 yards per catch and was one of the lone bright spots on the Spartans’ roster this year.
After a dominant season at SJSU, Scudero was listed as a three-star prospect in the transfer portal by 247Sports, as well as the 163rd-ranked player and the 39th-ranked player at his position. He isn’t the only addition to the wide receiver room in the last 24 hours, either, as the Buffaloes earned a commitment from Miami Ohio transfer Kam Perry, who nearly posted 1000 yards in his own right last year.
Not only does the pair of additions go a long way toward addressing the loss of Omarion Miller, but it also injects some new talent in Boulder to grow alongside freshman phenom Julian Lewis. The former five-star prospect was sensational at times last season, yet the team didn’t have the depth to compete for the duration of the season. This time around, Coach Prime is making sure that won’t be the case.
With the commitment, Scudero became Colorado’s fifth addition already of the transfer portal cycle, and if one thing is for sure, it’s that Deion Sanders won’t be slowing down anytime soon.
