New Kansas State head coach Collin Klein has his first addition through the transfer portal this offseason with the commitment of Arkansas transfer defensive back Keshawn Davila.
Davila, a 6-foot-1 junior from Tampa, Florida, spent one season with the Razorbacks and saw limited action in three games.
Coming out of Northwest Mississippi Community College in the Class of 2025, Davila was listed as one of the nation’s best JUCO prospects. He checked in as No. 9 nationally, the top defensive back in his class, and the fourth-ranked player in the state of Florida. This time around, the Florida native earned a three-star rating by 247Sports and checks in as the 598th-best player available and the 70th-ranked cornerback.
One big aspect of the move here came when discussing Klein’s new staff in Manhattan. Davila spent the previous season at Arkansas under defensive backs coach Marcus Woodson, who now happens to be the co-defensive coordinator at Kansas State.
Davila’s biggest game of the year last year, ironically enough, came against No. 4 Texas A&M and then offensive coordinator Collin Klein. He posted two total tackles in the team’s 45-42 loss.
While it may not be the most flashy addition of the cycle, cornerback is a position that needs loads of depth. Both the Wildcats’ starting corners are set to return in 2026, Donovan McIntosh and Zashon Rich, but adding a player with the upside of Keshawn Davila is certainly a good thing.
