Well, K-State may have had a slow first day in the transfer portal, but things are picking up steam now. Collin Klein’s Wildcats have now landed four prospects on Monday, three of which they added before the clock struck noon.
The first two additions came within about 20 minutes of each other: Texas A&M wide receiver Izaiah Williams and Missouri IOL Keaton Jones. Then, about an hour later, news broke that a former Big Ten defensive back would be heading to Manhattan as well.
That player is Illinois defensive back Kaleb Patterson, who spent the previous two seasons with the Fighting Illini. The 6-foot-1 junior from Jackson, Mississippi, has been really solid for Illinois, seeing action in 20 games with the program. He committed to Bret Bielema’s group in the Class of 2023 as a Top 10 JUCO prospect at cornerback. Since then, he’s posted 47 total tackles, four pass breakups, and a forced fumble in his two-year career at the Power Four level.
Then, things cooled off for a bit until the Cats signed arguably their biggest addition of the offseason so far. The Wildcats picked up a commitment from Miami (OH) safety Koy Beasley, who is fresh off a dominant season with the RedHawks. In 2025, Beasley recorded 40 tackles, an interception, and six pass breakups as a redshirt freshman. The former four-star prospect heads to Manhattan with multiple years of eligibility left and an opportunity to fill a big hole on the back end of the defense.
Kansas State’s 2026 class is off and running, and Collin Klein doesn’t look to be slowing down anytime soon.
