Deion Sanders has an interesting problem on his hands. Well, maybe more so had an interesting problem on his hands.
Multiple tweets released an update on Colorado on Monday morning, mentioning that Deion Sanders is officially banning players from wearing gear of their former teams in the CU facilities. Now, the bigger question is, why is this even an issue?
“Don’t wear your old team’s gear in this facility,” Sanders said in a video. “That’s disrespectful. That would be like your lady who you have currently wearing her ex’s stuff. How you feel about that? That’s how I feel about that when I see you come into the cafeteria, when you eat our food with your last team on. Obviously, if you want to stay there, you should’ve stayed.”
It’s no secret that there’s no loyalty in college sports anymore, and everyone chases the biggest bags or shiniest objects. Colorado is a notorious portal destination because of Sanders’ larger-than-life personality and incredible resume on and off the field, and they add some of the most players in the country through the portal each season. Still, it’s a little strange to see that become an issue in college football.
Truthfully speaking, this feels like something Deion Sanders should be commended for. It’s weird that a player leaving their program would want to wear their old gear at the new facility. It’s a strange reality in today’s college football world, but it seems like Colorado has that aspect figured out, at least somewhat, that is.
