Well, ESPN’s College GameDay gave their picks for the massive Saturday matchup between BYU and Kansas, and it looks like fans in Lawrence are going to like this one.
Each panelist, including Seth Greenberg, Andraya Carter, and Jay Williams, elected to roll with the Jayhawks with little to no love being sent in the direction of the Cougars.
Sportsbooks currently agree with the pick, with Kansas favored by 3.5 at home. The point total for the contest is 157.5, and it should be one of the best games of the year.
One of the biggest storylines everyone is discussing is the headlining matchup between the two presumed top picks in the 2026 NBA Draft, BYU’s AJ Dybantsa and Kansas’ Darryn Peterson. The caveat is the lingering and confusing injury history of the star Kansas guard. Peterson has been a menace when healthy this season, averaging a team-high 23 points per game. The issue is that he’s been sidelined due to both a nagging hamstring issue and recently suffered an ankle injury. He is expected to play vs. BYU, but his minutes are anyone’s guess.
The two teams enter the contest sitting at a combined 32-8. No. 14 Kansas sits at 15-5, while No. 13 BYU checks in with an overall record of 17-3. Not only will it be a massive game for NBA draft scouts, but it will make a big difference in league standings as both teams currently hold a 5-2 conference record.
So, do you agree with ESPN’s panelists? Or will the Cougars spoil the party and take a nice step forward in the conference race?
