Man, what the hell is going on in Manhattan, Kansas?!
Jerome Tang’s Kansas State Wildcats are actually cooked. They have little to no fight, and during their home game against No. 8 Iowa State, K-State legend Jacob Pullen took to social media and left a one-sentence critique that echoed loudly.
“It’s hard to watch honestly.”
When your program’s all-time leading scorer is openly calling out the program, you know there are problems. Tang allegedly spent loads of money on his roster, with the Field of 68’s Jeff Goodman mentioning the program as having Top Five NIL just one season ago. Unfortunately, all that money spent has resulted in an overall record of 10-11 and a conference record of 1-7.
Now, to play devil’s advocate, the ‘Cats have been banged up with injuries this year, but things looked shaky even before that. Star shooter Abdi Bashir is dealing with a foot injury, forwards Mobi Ikegwuruka and Elias Rapieque aren’t available, and starting center Khamari McGriff is also out.
Deep in the second half of the Iowa State game, Kansas State trails the Cyclones by 30. They have been outmatched from the jump, and the road ahead doesn’t look to be getting any better. For fans looking for a quick fix and a change of direction, it’ll cost $18.7 Million to fire Jerome Tang. His four seasons at the helm have had some high highs and some really low lows.
