On Friday afternoon, Kansas head coach Bill Self shared an update on Darryn Peterson’s health ahead of Saturday’s match up vs. Iowa State. According to Jayhawk Slant, Peterson is “good to go” for the game in Ames on Saturday.
Peterson was a late scratch on Monday night when the Jayhawks pulled off an upset over No. 1 ranked Arizona at Allen Fieldhouse. He’s missed 11 games on the season with a combination of health issues from a hamstring to an ankle injury to cramps, and most recently, the flu.
Peterson is still expected to be the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft this summer. He’s averaging 20.5 points per game, 4.2 rebounds per game and is shooting 48.9% from the field this season.
What to Know Ahead of Kansas vs. Iowa State
Kansas has won eight games in a row heading into the game on Saturday, while Iowa State is fresh off a loss to TCU mid-week. Iowa State enters the contest a 5.5-point favorite with an over/under of 142.5 points, up one point since opening.
Bill Self and the Jayhawks look to make it nine straight wins since hanging 21 on the Cyclones at Allen Fieldhouse on Jan. 13. Kansas (19-5, 9-2 Big 12) is coming off a big one, an 82-78 home win over unbeaten No. 1 Arizona on Monday night, and Iowa State (21-3, 8-3 Big 12) is searching to rebound from a 62-55 loss at TCU on Tuesday.
