TCU just added its quarterback of the future.
Class of 2027 signal caller Brice McCurdy announced his commitment to the Horned Frogs, giving TCU an early win on the recruiting trail in the heart of Texas. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound quarterback out of Waco chose TCU over Cincinnati and Baylor, choosing Fort Worth over his hometown team and a fellow rising Big 12 program.
His message was simple.
“Finally home, GO FROGS 🐸”
That kind of statement says a lot about how TCU positioned itself in this recruitment. When a player from Waco, a city with obvious ties to Baylor, opts for the Horned Frogs instead, it signals trust in the direction of the program under Sonny Dykes and comfort with the staff’s long-term vision.
McCurdy brings a sturdy frame for a young quarterback and already looks physically ahead of schedule for the 2027 cycle. At 205 pounds, he is not a developmental twig who needs three years in a college weight room just to hold up. The build is there. Now it becomes about refinement and progression through the rest of his career.
McCurdy still has plenty of football ahead of him before he steps on campus, but getting his pledge now allows the Horned Frogs to build around him instead of scrambling later.
In a state that produces quarterbacks every year, TCU made sure one of them is headed to Fort Worth.
