Is Darryn Peterson‘s bizarre season starting to catch up with him? That might be the case after college basketball analyst Sean Farnham said on Sportscenter on Thursday that NBA scouts were starting to question Peterson.
Farnham said, “I talked to numerous scouts and front office folks in the NBA today that will have picks in the lottery and they’re starting to say that there’s questions, not about what he brings to the court, but it’s the mentality…and then the availability. The questions on Darryn is, ‘Will he play?'”
The Darryn Peterson saga was taken to a new level this week, and the timing was great for talking heads. The NFL is in a lull, and sports shows are begging for something to talk about. After the game, Bill Self said, “We’ve had this happen more than a couple of times. I thought he was good to go. We only got 18 minutes out of him. That’s disappointing, because he could’ve had a really big night.”
We’re finally to the point where even Self himself must answer for Peterson’s pattern of mid-game cramping, and that, regardless of what freshman star does in the box score, folks are undoubtedly wondering what this situation looks like in March?
Kansas has a talented roster without Darryn on the floor, and any doubt about that fact can send their complaints to Allen Fieldhouse, 1651 Naismith Drive, where the Jayhawks handed then-unbeaten No. 1 Arizona its first loss of the season.
