Five-star Florida small forward Gabe Nesmith is making the trip to Lawrence, Kansas, to visit with Bill Self and the Kansas Jayhawks this weekend. He’ll be inside Allen Fieldhouse for the regular-season finale against Kansas State on Saturday.
Nesmith, standing at 6-foot-5 for Overtime Elite in West Palm Beach, Florida, adds Kansas to his list of Power Four stops as the Jayhawks hope to end the regular season with a win following a rough road trip to Arizona, which included losses in Tucson last weekend and at Arizona State on Tuesday.
Nesmith has already fielded offers from Tennessee, N.C. State, USC, Auburn and Maryland among others. Nesmith (15.9 ppg) has been particularly effective on the defensive glass this year with 4.2 defensive boards per night.
ESPN currently ranks Nesmith (89 scout grade) at second in his position and 15th in the Class of 2027. Rivals also slots Nesmith into its top 20 of the class, and tapped him at No. 5 among small forwards.
Kansas has just one hard commit from the 2027 class, five-star Atlanta small forward Javon Bardwell.
