Game Four of the Big 12 Tournament is just around the corner, and we’ve got two programs in two programs needing to win out or go on a massive run to sneak into the NCAA Tournament. No. 11 Colorado hosts No. 14 Oklahoma State on Tuesday, March 10th at 8:30 PM CT in Kansas City. Oklahoma State had hovered around the bubble at times this season, while Colorado really hasn’t seen much love from bracketologists. Here’s a preview, prediction, key storylines, and updated odds to keep an eye on in this matchup as we get set for today’s game.
Colorado vs. Oklahoma State Basketball Updated Odds
The Colorado Buffaloes opened as a 2.5-point favorite in Kansas City, with an over/under of 164.5 total points. The line has moved by Tuesday morning to Colorado as a 1.5-point favorite, and an over/under of 162.5 total points.
Key Storyline: Offseason Momentum
I’ll be honest here, I find it hard to see either of these two teams going on a serious run toward the NCAA Tournament. At this point, the story shifts from what’s next this year to what’s next this offseason, and there’s nothing wrong with that! If you ask fans of either team, I believe most would tell you they’re looking forward to the offseason and hope to come back with better rosters in 2026-27. Until then, these two each have at least this one game remaining to finish off the year right.
Match Up to Watch: Oklahoma State Offense vs. Colorado Defense
From a metric standpoint, Oklahoma State is somewhat of an anomaly in 2025-26. Usually, teams have a dominant area of expertise and a slightly worse spot as well when comparing offense to defense. Oklahoma State has perhaps the largest gap of any team in the Big 12, sitting with the league’s third-best offense (83.9PPG) and the worst defense in the entire conference (82.5PPG allowed). Colorado, on the other hand, is just okay on offense (79.9PPG, 8th) and slightly below defensively (79PPG allowed, 13th).
Prediction: Oklahoma State 85, Colorado 79
This game feels weird all around. There are so many different outcomes to this contest that it’s nearly impossible to predict. In general, Oklahoma State has a better offense but a more volatile defense. If they can just be serviceable in KC on that side of the ball, they should have enough firepower to advance. Still, I wouldn’t count any chickens before they hatch. It’s the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City, anything can happen!
