The Texas Tech Red Raiders are getting set for their seed to be revealed on Selection Sunday, and the team also got some good news late on Saturday when it was revealed that star guard Christian Anderson would be good to go to play in the 2026 NCAA Tournament.
Anderson left Texas Tech’s quarterfinals game against Iowa State after slipping on the glass court, that was eventually removed later in the day in favor of the hardwood for the semifinals and finals on Friday and Saturday.

Texas Tech’s Recent Stretch of Basketball
Texas Tech has lost three in a row to end the season against TCU, BYU and then Iowa State in the Big 12 Tournament. Prior to that, Tech had won three in a row following the loss of star JT Toppin for the season.
The Red Raiders need Anderson at 100% strength to have any chance of making a decent run in March Madness. The sophomore guard is averaging 18.9 points per game, 7.6 assists per game and 3.6 rebounds per game, while shooting nearly 48% from the field.
Texas Tech finished the regular season with a 12-6 record in the Big 12, tied for third place in the league with Iowa State and Kansas, but due to tiebreakers, they got the No. 4 seed in the Big 12 Tournament, which they were knocked out of by the Cyclones during the quarterfinal match up.
The Big 12 Conference is expected to land eight teams in the Big Dance, with Texas Tech joining Kansas, Iowa State, Arizona, Houston, UCF, TCU and BYU.
Selection Sunday begins at 5:00 p.m. CT, airing on CBS.
