Former West Virginia quarterback Nicco Marchiol has made his transfer portal decision. The junior signal-caller announced he is headed to Northwestern, bringing an end to his time in Morgantown after four seasons with the Mountaineers.
Marchiol, a native of Chandler, Arizona, appeared in multiple games during his West Virginia career and showed flashes of dual-threat ability when given opportunities under center. During his time with the program, he completed 137 passes for 1,462 yards, posting a 10-to-7 touchdown-to-interception ratio through the air.
In addition to his passing production, Marchiol also contributed as a runner. The veteran quarterback totaled 341 rushing yards and four touchdowns, giving the Mountaineers another option in the ground game when he saw action.
Marchiol originally joined West Virginia as a highly regarded quarterback prospect and served primarily in a reserve role throughout his tenure. Now, he’ll look for a fresh start in the Big Ten with Northwestern as he continues his college career.
With his decision finalized, Marchiol becomes the latest Big 12 player to find a new home through the transfer portal this offseason.
