Posey, the son of two-time NBA champion James Posey, showed flashes during his sophomore campaign while carving out a role in TCU’s rotation. He averaged 4.6 points and 2.3 rebounds per game this season, providing depth and energy off the bench.
While his overall numbers were modest, Posey had moments that hinted at his potential, most notably a 21-point performance in a win over the Florida Gators back in November. That outing showcased his scoring ability and upside when given extended opportunities.
His departure adds to what is slowly becoming a busy offseason across the Big 12, as programs continue to navigate roster changes in the transfer portal era. For TCU, losing Posey means subtracting a young player with developmental upside, even if he wasn’t a full-time starter.
