With the college basketball transfer portal now open and rocking, Kansas forward Flory Bidunga appears to be trending toward a potential transfer inside the Big 12, according to multiple recruiting outlets.
Bidunga, a former five-star prospect and one of the most intriguing players in the transfer portal, entered the portal after a strong sophomore season in Lawrence. He finished the season averaging 13.3 points per game and 9.0 rebounds per game. The 6-foot-10 forward also tested the NBA Draft process while maintaining his college eligibility.
Now, all signs are pointing toward Lubbock as a possible landing spot.
On3 and 247 are both projecting Bidunga land in West Texas.
Meantime, 247Sports‘ crystal ball has Bidunga heading to Lubbock as a 100% prediction.
Texas Tech head coach Grant McCasland has been aggressive in the portal and has made adding frontcourt talent a priority this offseason. Bidunga would immediately give the Red Raiders a dynamic presence in the paint, combining length, athleticism and defensive upside that fits McCasland’s system.
For Kansas, losing Bidunga would mark another significant roster shakeup during a busy offseason. The Jayhawks have already seen multiple players enter the transfer portal as Bill Self looks to reshape the roster heading into the 2026-27 season. The Jayhawks went down in the second round of March Madness to St. John’s.
Texas Tech had high hopes throughout the season, but losing JT Toppin to a torn ACL was too much to overcome for the Red Raiders this season. Tech finished 23-11 and lost in the second round of the NCAA Tournament to Alabama.
As for whether or not he could end up in the NBA, that remains to be seen. Most draft analysts have Bidunga going either late in the first round or midway through the second. The Kongo native raised his stock immensely in Year 2 and a third year would only push those expectations higher should he return.
