This Former Kansas State Basketball Player is Visiting Another Big 12 School

NCAA Basketball: Kansas State at Saint Louis

Former Kansas State guard and Cal transfer Dai Dai Ames is set to visit with Bill Self and Kansas on Monday, according to multiple reports on Friday. His short list of upcoming visits includes Tennessee, Xavier, Ole Miss and the Jayhawks.

Ames, a former four-star recruit out of Kenwood Academy in Chicago, was recruited by Jerome Tang and Kansas State despite competing interest from competing interest from the likes of Kentucky and Michigan State. Ames transferred twice to Virginia and then Cal, where he averaged 16.9 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.

Self, returning to Kansas for his 24th season as head coach, is looking at the big board once again after seven of his players declared for or entered the portal.

Specifically at guard, Kansas is set to lose Elmarko Jackson, Jamari McDowell and Jayden Dawson from its backcourt next season.

The news of Ames’ interest in Kansas comes after freshman forward Bryson Tiller scheduled a visit with another familiar, non-Big 12 foe, Missouri, earlier this week.
