Did Cincinnati Just Land Its Quarterback of the Future?

NCAA Football: Houston at Cincinnati

The Cincinnati Bearcats just picked up a commitment in the Class of 2027 with quarterback Camden Hughes sharing on social media that he is joining the program after he wraps up his high school career. The Texas native is set to join UC following his career in The Woodlands at College Park, Texas.

He held offers from UTSA, North Texas, Florida Atlantic, and other schools. Hughes is currently unrated by 247Sports. The 6’1″, 185-pound quarterback is a dual-threat, pass-first player who often stretches the field. Per 247Sports, “he has great vision and the ability to keep plays alive despite heavy pressure, and can also throw on the run. Hughes played in a heavy play-action scheme and should fit in well with UC.”

He threw for 2,468 yards, 36 touchdowns and four interceptions, while running for 424 yards and nine touchdowns in 2025, as a junior. As a sophomore, he had 2,555 yards and 25 touchdowns.

Other 2027 offensive commits for the Bearcats including Javarris Warner, Jalen Webb, and Ryan Massie-Cable. Cincinnati’s 2027 class is now ranked No. 40 in the nation and No. 7 in the Big 12, per 247.
