Did Kansas State Steal This 2027 Recruit From the SEC?

NCAA Football: Kansas State at Texas Tech

Three-star 2027 safety Julian Elzey committed to Collin Klein and Kansas State on Thursday over competing offers from the SEC and the ACC.

Auburn, Miami and Georgia all issued offers to the 6-foot-1, 190-pound recruit out of Snellville, Georgia, but the Wildcats ultimately landed the commitment and a new piece to the secondary beginning with the 2027 season.

Looking up and down Elzey’s offer list, there are 35 other options on the table and some of them from high-dollar programs. Elzey’s March visit to Manhattan, thought, seemed to hit the hardest, and ultimately won the Georgia native’s commitment.

No commitment is concrete anymore, but Elzey, the No. 88 safety recruit the control, appears sold on what Klein and Kansas State is offering against several other Power Four programs that gave him a look.

Elzey took full advantage of his junior season at Brookwood High School in Georgia, too. He tallied 81 total tackles, two tackles-for-loss, two forced fumbles and one interception as a contributing factor in a Bronco defense that produced three shutout victories during last year’s 10-3 campaign.

Kansas State is hard at work in the Class of 2027 with 11 different commitments coming since Klein and general manager Clint Brown stepped into town.
