Former Iowa State forward Milan Momcilovic has made his decision and will commit to the Kentucky Wildcats. Momcilovic decided to pass on the NBA Draft last week, instead opting to return to college, with his decision reportedly coming down to Kentucky or Louisville. And now, he joins Mark Pope and his quest to turn around of the great blue bloods in the sport.
Momcilovic is expected to earn nearly $6 million, according to CBS Sports‘ Matt Norlander.
Momcilovic is coming off a highly efficient season in which he averaged 16.9 points per game while shooting 50.6% from the field and an eye-popping 48.6% from three-point range. He did well going through NBA Draft workouts, finishing fifth in both the spot-up shooting and off-the-dribble shooting drills in Chicago, knocking down 17-25 spot-up attempts and 22-30 off-the-dribble shots. He also placed sixth in the side-mid-side drill at 16-of-28 and finished tied for first in free throws after going 10-10.
In Momcilovic’s three seasons in Ames, Iowa State won 83 games and made two Sweet 16 appearances.
As rules currently stand, Momcilovic has one year of eligibility remaining. However, if the NCAA moves ahead with its “five in five” rule, he could have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
