‘Sleeper’: Tad Boyle On Colorado’s New Guard

Tad Boyle and Colorado men’s basketball believe they have a ‘sleeper’ on their hands.

Harvard-Westlake product Amir Jones is the latest prospect to sign with the Buffaloes in the Class of 2026, and comes aboard amid a roster rebuild that’s concentrated on a young ballhandlers like Jones. What’s one more?

The 6-foot-3, 180-pound Studio City, California, native signs with the Buffaloes after previously committing to Georgia State. As a senior, Jones averaged 12 points per game in helping his prep squad reach the SoCal regional championship and finish as the third-best boys program in the state by MaxPreps.

“Amir is the epitome of the term sleeper,” Boyle said in a release. “His ability to defend on and off the ball, as well as shoot it, makes him an ideal Colorado Buffalo.”

Jones was named to the All-Mission League Second Team, as well as the Los Angeles Daily News All-Area Boys Basketball Team.
