Oklahoma CB Jordan Parker out rest of 2017 season

The Oklahoma Sooners secondary took a big blow on Monday when head coach Lincoln Riley announced that cornerback Jordan Parker would miss the rest of the 2017 season with a knee injury.

Parker suffered the injury against UTEP Saturday on a punt in the first quarter and was unable to put any weight on his left leg. He was helped off the field before heading to the Oklahoma locker room.

It’s been a rough year for Parker who’s been bitten by the injury bug. He missed a lot of time in spring practice after he suffered a foot injury in April.

Parker entered the game on Saturday as a backup to cornerback Parnell Motley, but clearly was going to play a big role in the secondary. The problem for the Sooners now is that the backs up cornerbacks are true freshmen in Tre’ Norwood and Tre Brown, along with Justin Broiles.

Parker is sophomore from Pittsburg, Calif. and played in 10 games during the 2016 season. He finished last season with 36 tackles and one forced fumble.

Jordan Parker confirmed the news on Twitter and tried to remain positive in his outlook moving forward

The Sooners have a tough match up on the road Saturday against Ohio State.
