MIAMI (OH) (4-4, 3-1 in MAC) vs. FLORIDA ATLANTIC (6-3, 4-1 in Conference USA)

Ohio is no longer bowl eligible. Miami (OH) is now in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl as the new leader of the MAC. Why would Miami choose the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl over the Bahamas Bowl? Because they want to play higher competition. The Mountain West presents better competition. Thus, the MAC Champion goes to Boise for its bowl game.

Western Michigan is now in the Bahamas Bowl as the leader of the MAC West. They hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over Central Mcihigan.

Central Michigan is now in the Mobile Alabama Bowl as the only team remaining with 4 victories in MAC play.

Toledo is now in the Camelia Bowl holding the best overall record of the teams with 3-2 records in MAC play.

UL Lafayette defeats Coastal Carolina. Coastal is no longer bowl eligible. They were in the Birmingham Bowl. UL Lafayette remains No.2 from the Sun Belt and in the Arizona Bowl.

Temple defeats South Florida. The Bulls are ineligible and are knocked out of the Birmingham Bowl. Temple moves ahead of Tulane in the pecking order, but remains in the Gasparilla Bowl.

Tulane drops to the Birmingham Bowl because The American is unable to fulfill its bowl allotment.

Because The American is unable to fulfill its bowl allotment, Liberty is now in the Cure Bowl with its secondary agreement.

The Frisco Bowl needs a new at-large team. Nevada receives the invitation because they are from the Mountain West. The other options were Buffalo and Florida International.

.500 teams are activated.
The Texas Bowl invites Mike Leach and the Washington State Cougars to play Texas.

Between two west coast teams, the Pinstripe Bowl invites BYU because of its national audience. (Washington State was in the Pinstripe Bowl)

Fresno State is the final remaining bowl eligible team. They end up in the Independence Bowl.

APR activated
Ohio has the highest APR ranking of teams 1 game under .500. At 4-5, Ohio is in a tie for 28th with a score of 981. They wind up in the Birmingham Bowl taking the place of Coastal Carolina.

UCF and Tulsa did not have any effect considering Tulsa is 3-7 and UCF did not drop.

Oregon State is now ineligible. They were so high in the Pac-12 standings that they were in the Holiday Bowl.

Stanford replaces Oregon State in the Holiday Bowl.

Washington jumps over Arizona State and moves into the RedBox Bowl.

Arizona State remains in the Sun Bowl.

California moves up to the Las Vegas Bowl.

Washington State was a fill-in team. They are now in a Pac-12 slot, facing Oklahoma State in the Cheez-It Bowl.

North Carolina State replaces Washington State in the Texas Bowl. They are now playing the Longhorns. They are chosen as the final bowl eligible Power Five school.

Ohio is ranked 28th in the APR. They replace North Carolina State in the Armed Forces Bowl. NC State was actually in one of the worse fill-in spots because two fill-in spots play against ACC teams. The Texas Bowl would choose Washington State over NC State simply because Mike Leach sells tickets in Texas.

Nebraska is tied a No.41 in the APR rankings with Kent State and Ole Miss. The Rebels and Golden Flashes are 3-6. Nebraska gets the APR next APR slot in the Birmingham Bowl.
